First Tech Group ("FTG", "we", "us") is the controller of personal data collected through this website (www.ftg.vc), including our careers platform, our founder pitch platform, and our newsletter. This notice explains what we collect, why, where it lives, and the rights you have over it.
Specific notices apply on top of this one when you apply for a role (Candidate Privacy Notice) or submit your company (Founder Submission Privacy Notice).
What we collect
- Account data — your email address and authentication credentials when you create an account. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us in plain text.
- Application data — if you apply for a role: your name, contact details, CV/résumé, and your answers to application questions.
- Founder submission data — if you pitch us: your company details, pitch deck, financial documents, and intake answers.
- Newsletter data — your email address, if you subscribe to FTG Insights.
- Technical data — server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) generated when you use the site, used for security and reliability.
We do not collect more than we need, and we do not buy, sell, or trade personal data.
Why we process it
- To operate the site and your account (performance of a contract).
- To run recruitment and evaluate founder submissions (steps at your request prior to a contract, and our legitimate interest in operating a venture firm).
- To send you the newsletter you asked for (consent — withdraw any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing us).
- To keep the platform secure, including malware-scanning uploaded files (legitimate interest).
- To meet legal obligations that apply to us.
Where your data lives
Application data and uploaded documents are stored with our database and storage provider, Supabase, in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). The website is served by Vercel. If you are in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, or elsewhere outside the EU, your data is transferred to and stored in the EU under appropriate safeguards consistent with the GDPR, the Saudi PDPL, and the UAE PDPL.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that host and operate the platform for us (hosting, database, storage, email delivery, malware scanning), bound by data-processing terms.
- FTG staff on a need-to-know basis, controlled by role-based access (recruiters see applications; assigned reviewers see submissions).
- Authorities, only where the law requires it.
We never sell personal data, and we never share founder or candidate materials with third parties for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
- Accounts — until you ask us to delete them.
- Unsuccessful applications and declined submissions — automatically purged, together with uploaded files, 6 months after the decision, unless you ask us to keep your details for future opportunities.
- Newsletter — until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs — short-lived, for security and reliability only.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, Saudi PDPL, UAE PDPL), you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email [hello@ftg.vc](mailto:hello@ftg.vc) — we respond to every request. You also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority.
Security
Security measures — including row-level access control, private storage with signed access, and malware scanning of every upload — are described on our Security page.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will update this notice as the platform evolves and change the date below when we do.
