First Tech Group wants everyone to be able to use this site — to read our research, apply for a role, or pitch their company — regardless of ability or assistive technology. This statement describes where we are and where we are headed.
Our target
We aim for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA across www.ftg.vc, including the careers and founder platforms.
What we have built in
- Semantic structure — meaningful headings, landmarks, and lists, so screen readers can navigate by structure rather than by guesswork.
- Keyboard access — interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator throughout.
- Forms that explain themselves — programmatic labels, required and optional fields marked explicitly, and inline validation errors announced to assistive technology.
- Reduced motion respected — animations and scroll effects are disabled for users with a reduced-motion preference, and the site remains fully readable without JavaScript.
- Contrast and text — a high-contrast palette on a dark background, and text that scales with browser settings.
- Alternative text — informative images, including product logos and article covers, carry descriptive alt text; decorative art is hidden from assistive technology.
Known limitations
- The animated canvas artwork on the home page is decorative; the information it accompanies is always available as text.
- Some documents uploaded by third parties (for example job descriptions attached as files) may not meet the same standard; ask us for an accessible version.
